The 36th annual award ceremony of ‘Sri Sivakumar Educational and Charitable Trust’, founded by veteran actor Sivakumar to honor the school toppers, took place in the city recently. Flanked by his two popular actor-sons Suriya and Karthi, Sivakumar gave away financial assistance to the tune of `2.5 lakhs to the school toppers and visually challenged children hailing from economically poor family.
“The legacy of nurturing the needy students is now carried on with the same passion and vigor by Suriya’s ‘Agaram Foundation’. We are now able to reach more number of students in rural sector,” Sivakumar said.
Speaking on the occasion, Suriya said, “It is not difficult to start a task, but continuing the same consistently is a tough job. This is what I learnt from my father. 36 years of functioning of ‘Sri Sivakumar Educational and Charitable Trust’ is a testimony to my dad’s commitment.”
