Jayaprada turns singer
Actress Jayaprada, known for her films like Ninaithale Inikkum and Sagar Sangamam, quit films to become a politician. But now, she's on a comeback mode, and is planning a stint in Kollywood as well. But even before she makes an onscreen appearance, she's done something of a first for her in Kollywood — she's sung a song in her nephew's upcoming film, Uyire Uyire (a remake of Telugu film Ishq).
"I have base as a singer, for, I have learnt singing. But singing professionally, that too for a film, is a first for me. The song is called Listen To My Heart, and I have sung it with with Javed Ali. It's a peppy, catchy number, and I was very nervous in the recording studio," says Jayaprada. "The night before I was to record this song, I kept listening to it, humming it, and practicing. I was very nervous, as this is the first time I am singing a song, and that too, in a language that I don't speak very well," she adds
